Front Entry and Porch

Guests access the home from the Daytona Avenue side.  Ample parking for four cars is available in the driveway.  A few steps to the right and they are greeted by a Charleston/Savannah open-arms staircase, welcoming them to your home.

The walkway is paved in clay bricks, providing a secure and colorful path to the front door.

The sturdy staircase has Ipe wood stair treads.  Ipe is a very dense wood that will not splinter and provides a smooth, slip-resistant surface.  It is attached with a system that has no screw heads or nails showing  The handrails are of PVC construction to provide a bright white appearance and to require minimum maintenance.

The front porch at the head of the steps is large enough to accommodate a couple chairs to provide comfortable seating that catches the ocean breezes.  It is roomy enough to allow guests to stand out of any rain while waiting for you to open the door.  The porch deck is constructed of Ipe, again with no fasteners showing.

The front door is fiberglass construction to withstand weathering.  Two side lights and a transom window provide easterly light into the great room.
